
Tangkhul is A Naga tribe, Ukhrul District in India (Tangkhuls are also present in Senapati District and the Somra Tract in Myanmar) is the Homeland of the Tangkhuls. Richly Blessed with abundant Flora and Fauna, Shirui Kashong in Ukhrul is home to the "Shirui Lily" (Lilium Mackliniae) a beautiful lily which is found no where else in the world. Other notable areas of natural beauty are Phangrei, Khangkhui cave, Nungshang kong, Skip Valley etc. The Land of the Tangkhuls is also said to be a bountiful reserve of Minerals. Like other Nagas, Tangkhuls are a Warrior tribe, Brave, Friendly, Open and easy-going and trustworthy, Tankghuls are fond of singing, dancing and festivities. Luira ( LUI-NGAI-NI) is the Biggest Festival of the Tangkhuls. Traditional attires are colorful and delicately designed, Among the colors, Red, White and Black stand out as the most prominent in the traditional attires. Traditional attires are accentuated with matching accessories and gears such as Kongsang, Pashi and Har.
